Bosnian MMA fighter Ahmed Vila has officially signed with Fight Nation Championship (FNC), marking a major milestone in his professional career. The announcement was made during an episode of the Buzzer Podcast, where Vila appeared as a guest and discussed his upcoming bout scheduled for December 20 in Podgorica, Montenegro, at the iconic Morača Sports Center.
The signing places Vila within one of the fastest-growing MMA organizations in Europe, a promotion that has consistently sold out major arenas across the Balkans, including Belgrade Arena, Zagreb Arena, and now Podgorica’s Morača.
According to Vila, FNC had shown interest for some time, and the timing eventually aligned perfectly. Fighting under the FNC banner allows him to compete close to home, in front of his family, friends, and regional fans, while still testing himself against elite European competition.
The agreement was finalized through cooperation between Ivan Dijaković, Vila’s manager, and Dražen Forgač, FNC’s leading executive figure. While the contract allows flexibility to compete elsewhere, Vila made it clear that his immediate focus is fully on FNC and his upcoming fight in Montenegro.
While some fighters struggle with added pressure when competing on home soil, Vila views the situation differently. Having already fought in front of crowds exceeding 20,000 spectators, as well as in smaller but intense European venues like Düsseldorf, he believes crowd support is a clear advantage.
Another key benefit is reduced travel stress. Cutting weight, maintaining hydration, and avoiding long flights significantly improve fight-week preparation—something Vila emphasized as a major factor in his comfort heading into Podgorica.
Vila’s opponent at FNC Podgorica will be Luka Giorgadze, a tough Georgian fighter known for durability and strong boxing fundamentals. Giorgadze previously fought notable names including Bojković, Alessandro ‘Al Capone’, and Hadzhiev, showing resilience and finishing ability.
While Vila acknowledges the challenge, he remains realistic and respectful:
“There are no easy fights. Every fight is a risk. Giorgadze is tough, Georgian fighters are known for their grit, but we Balkans also have strong genetics and world-class training now.”
For this camp, Vila split his training between MMA Fighter Academy in Sarajevo and RRC Gym in Vitez, owned by Roberto Soldić, former KSW champion and one of the region’s most accomplished fighters.
Soldić played an active role in Vila’s preparation, implementing a structured system inspired by his experience in UFD, featuring:
The December 20 FNC event in Podgorica features one of the strongest cards in the organization’s history, including:
Vila expressed satisfaction with not headlining this event, as it allows him to finally enjoy watching other fights live after competing.
Looking beyond Podgorica, Vila confirmed that his ultimate objective is to become FNC Featherweight Champion. The current titleholder, Ivan Sičaja, is both a friend and respected competitor.
Other potential matchups mentioned include a possible rematch with Phillip Page, a fight Vila believes would generate strong fan interest, particularly if hosted in Sarajevo.
Ahmed Vila highlighted Buzzer as his primary sponsor and long-term supporter, crediting the platform for making his fight camp possible during critical moments.
Beyond sponsorship, Buzzer continues to promote combat sports in Bosnia and Herzegovina through podcasts, athlete exposure, and its sports-focused social platform—helping fighters reach audiences without mainstream media barriers.
