FC Palm City Stun Al Dhaid with 91st-Minute Winner in UAE FA Cup Thriller

Al Dhaid, February 10 – FC Palm City produced a dramatic late breakthrough to defeat Al Dhaid Club 3–2 in the UAE FA Cup Round of 32, advancing after a high-intensity contest packed with momentum shifts, big saves, and stoppage-time heroics.

The tie at MS No.1 had everything expected from knockout football, and it was ultimately decided by Anas Osama’s spectacular long-range finish deep into added time. Supporters worldwide watched all the action unfold live on Buzzer.

Fast Start from the Hosts

Al Dhaid wasted no time asserting themselves. Alshaibani struck in the 4th minute to hand the home side an early lead and immediately test Palm City’s resolve.

Despite facing a first-division opponent, the visitors showed no hesitation in their approach. Palm began to grow into the match, moving the ball with confidence and creating pressure in advanced areas.

Their intent nearly paid off in the 20th minute when Palm’s number 10 fired a powerful effort against the left post. Two minutes later, appeals for a penalty were waved away.

The equaliser arrived in the 29th minute. Alex Jorge climbed above the defence to power home a header and restore parity heading into the break.

Palm Turn It Around, Al Dhaid Respond

Palm City carried their momentum into the second half and completed the comeback in the 49th minute through Alejandro Melero, who finished off a well-constructed attack.

The pace of the match refused to drop. Al Dhaid threatened with a fine strike that forced an impressive save, while Palm City rattled the crossbar during a rapid transition moments later.

The hosts found their way back in the 67th minute when Faris Hilal capitalised on a set-piece situation to make it 2–2, setting up a tense finale.

Late Drama Decides the Tie

As spaces opened, Palm City looked the more aggressive side. A clear one-on-one opportunity in the 71st minute was denied by an outstanding stop, but the warning signs were there.

They found the breakthrough when it mattered most.

In the 91st minute, Palm launched a swift counter attack, and Anas Osama unleashed a superb strike from distance that flew past the goalkeeper and sealed qualification for the next round.

Big Picture

The result marks a significant statement for FC Palm City, who eliminated higher-tier opposition through resilience, organisation, and belief. Their second-half energy and late attacking commitment proved decisive in one of the standout matches of this stage of the UAE FA Cup.

For Al Dhaid, the performance showed quality, particularly from dead-ball situations, but the late concession ended their cup run in heartbreaking fashion.
