Football fans at The Sevens Stadium were treated to one of the most dramatic games of the UAE Second Division League season as FC Palm City survived a furious Arabian Falcons comeback to win 4–3.
The match had everything: early pressure, flowing attacking football, a red card, tactical reshuffles, and a grandstand finish that kept supporters on edge until the final whistle.
Palm City wasted no time asserting control. High pressure forced a mistake at the back in just the 3rd minute, allowing them to grab the opener and immediately dictate the tempo.
Soon after, a long ball from the goalkeeper unlocked the defense. A perfectly weighted through pass sent to Palm's no.7 clear, and the forward made no mistake, calmly finishing for 2–0.
With confidence soaring, Palm City continued to attack with pace and precision. In the 36th minute, a beautiful team move carved open the Falcons once again, extending the advantage to 3–0 before halftime.
At the break, the contest looked close to decided.
The second half initially settled into a slower rhythm, with possession concentrated in midfield and fewer clear chances.
Then, around the 55th minute, the game turned. A defensive error from Palm City resulted in a red card, forcing an immediate tactical adjustment. Alex Jorge departed, with Kays Mohamed introduced to strengthen the back line.
Yet even with ten men, Palm City showed impressive quality.
A powerful run down the right flank and an inch-perfect delivery into the box found Alejandro Melero, who fired under the crossbar to make it 4–0.
Instead of folding, Arabian Falcons responded with urgency. Cedric rose to the moment in the 62nd minute, converting from a well-taken corner to reduce the deficit. With the extra player, the Falcons began to dominate territory and push Palm City deeper and deeper.
Their pressure paid off again in the 74th minute when a deflection helped the ball over the line for 4–2. In the 82nd minute, a superb strike from the edge of the penalty area brought the score to 4–3, setting up a tense finale with the Falcons just one goal from an incredible recovery.
The closing stages were played almost entirely in Palm City’s half. Arabian Falcons threw numbers forward, while Palm defended in a compact low block and searched for counterattacking opportunities whenever space appeared.
Despite the relentless push, the equalizer never came. When the referee blew for full time, Palm City secured a vital victory after seeing a four-goal lead nearly disappear.
