Two Bosnian Footballers Are Headed to Dubai, And They Earned It the Right Way

50 players showed up for a tryout, and two of them are going to Dubai as promised. That’s what Palm City FC's European Tryout Tour was all about.

The tryout was on June 23rd and 24th. Fifty young footballers came to chase their dreams. They played 11v11 in front of coaches and gave it their all.

At the end, two players stood out.

Stefan Radaković and Daris Kablić will fly to Dubai. All their expenses will be covered, and they will get to train with Palm City FCs team. A professional contract could be waiting.

And the best part? They earned it without an agent or manager. They did not know anyone.

The Two Players

Stefan Radaković is a left winger (LW) from Prijedor. He stood out as a top dribbler and was very fast; defenders couldn’t keep up or catch him in 1v1.

Daris Kablić, on the other hand, is a central defensive midfielder (CDM) from Ključ. A technical player with great vision. He was able to organize attacks and distribute the ball well playing deep.

Two very different players in terms of profile, but both had the same opportunity and took it.

How Buzzer Made This Happen

Soheil Var, the founder of Palm City FC was in Sarajevo throughout the tryouts. He watched the matches and was involved in the final selection.

A First Division club owner involved in tryouts? Yep, that’s right. 

Just two years ago, Soheil was the player being told, “We don’t take the guy with the camera.” Traditional clubs didn’t think he fit their mold, so they rejected him. Now he’s the one in the tryouts doing the selecting. 

That’s the full circle of this story. A guy who was told no built his club, won the league, a domestic cup, and is now the one giving opportunities to players who remind him of his much younger self. 

What This Means for Bosnian Football

Bosnia has plenty of footballing talent. The national team, for starters, has produced big talents like Edin Džeko, Miralem Pjanić, Asmir Begović, and the grassroots scene is full of players who never get a chance because they don’t know people or didn’t go to the right academies.

This tryout was solid proof that talent is everywhere, and doesn’t care about your postcode or agent. Stefan and Daris are proof of that.

What Happens Next

As mentioned earlier, Stefan and Daris will travel to Dubai in August, where they will join Palm City FC’s team in training. They’ll be able to access the team’s facilities and coaching, as well as enjoy competition that most young players can only dream of. 

And if they impress, they get a shot at a pro contract.
